Bega Rotary has provided almost $3000 to purchase four iPads that have been split between the two locations.
Sapphire Coast Community Aged Care CEO Matt Sierp said one of the biggest challenges in residential aged care was loneliness and isolation.
"Through the click of a button, [residents] can now communicate with friends," he said.
"Their reaction is that they just don't believe what they've got at their fingertips these days. With one tap of a button they're Skyping their families."
While some residents have embraced the technology themselves and have even set up their own Facebook accounts, staff at the houses have been assisting others communicate with the devices.
While the homes' oldest resident, at age 100, has not used one of the iPads yet, Mr Sierp said the plan was to give them a go in the future.
He thanked Bega Rotary for their ongoing support.
