It was the first OneWave event held in Bermagui, which was hosted by surf instructor Lochy McCabe.
OneWave brings together surfers, or people with a love of the ocean, to dress up in fluro clothes, raise awareness of mental health, and jump into the water for a surf.
Some of the people attending the event shared their stories of personal struggles with issues around mental health before all getting into the water and encouraging each other to catch waves.
Mr McCabe said the event was "awesome" and he would definitely hold another day in the near future.
"There was a great turn out, everybody opened up and had a laugh which is what the day is about," he said.
