But the Kameruka Black Cockatoos and Pambula Bluedogs will both be working to change that this Saturday.
The two clubs will join forces for the Far South Coast's first R U Ok Cricket Cup aimed at opening up conversation about suicide prevention and mateship.
"We just wanted people to know it's alright if you do need help," Kameruka captain Jack Matthews said.
The club is working in partnership with mental health advocate and R U OK ambassador Glenn Cotter to challenge stigma around mental health and promote being able to open up.
"It's about educating people to make sure we're looking out for each other is the main thing," Mr Matthews said.
The Kameruka club was also among the first to embrace Pink Stumps Day and Matthews said the Cockatoos were the smallest club on the coast but were invested in helping the broader community.
Mr Cotter will give a talk to the crowd about helping to identify signs someone might be struggling, but also just engage and help break down stigma around mental health.
"There are avenues of support for anyone from 13 to … 113," Mr Cotter said.
"If we can open up the conversation now we can help work on prevention [of suicide]."
He said everyone goes through difficult days, but it was when the low periods lingered people should seek help.
"It's alright not to feel ok every day, we can't all be on top of the world all the time, but it's when that feeling of not being ok runs into a length of time."
Mr Cotter said it would also be about empowering people to open up with their mates.
"You don't have to be afraid to ask your mate if he's okay," he said.
The R U Ok crew and support staff will be on hand if anyone feels like talking, but Mr Cotter said it would be very informal and friendly.
"We're going to be there if you want to talk, but not getting in anyone's face."
Mr Matthews said the day coincides with the Kameruka sponsors day and the club were keen to put on a good show against the Bluedogs.
Mr Matthews said the club was grateful for the local support and invited all their sponsors out for the day.
The captain said Pambula were keen to be part of the day and both teams are expecting a solid competition to close out the regular season.
The R U Ok Cup will run from noon on Saturday at Lord's View Oval in Kameruka.
