The man, aged in his early 20s, was on bail at the time of the alleged assault and is due to face Bega District Court in May on multiple child sex charges.
The pair faced Bega Local Court on Tuesday, March 5, both charged with one count of aggravated sexual assault of a victim under the age of 16.
The man, who appeared via audio visual link, was refused bail and the woman, also aged in her early 20s, was released on conditional bail.
Her bail conditions include not travelling on a school bus, not contacting her co-accused, not going within one kilometre of the alleged victim's address and complying with an apprehended violence order.
Police allege the assault occurred between 3pm and 6pm on Sunday, February 24, in a South Coast town, and the pair were arrested by police two days later.
Both the man and the woman are yet to enter a plea.
Court documents reveal the woman had been on suicide watch following her arrest by police and was considered at risk of self harm.
Magistrate Mark Douglass adjourned both matters to Bega Local Court on Tuesday, May 28.
