All candidates for the seat of Bega - including the Liberals' Andrew Constance, Labor's Leanne Atkinson and the Greens' Will Douglas - have been invited to speak and most have confirmed their attendance.
Organisers have invited all candidates to present their vision for the future of the region and NSW as well as their positions on major social, environmental and economic issues of concern to voters in the Bega electorate.
Issues to be raised at the forum are likely to include environmental sustainability and quality of life in the region, business and employment opportunities especially for young people, renewable energy projects, education funding including TAFE and public schools, health services, housing affordability, climate change impacts, biodiversity and forestry policy.
The audience will have the opportunity to ask the candidates questions.
The moderator will be Bill Southwood and the forum’s hosts will be Clean Energy for Eternitys' Bill Caldicott, National Trust Far South Coast branch chair Frances Perkins, National Parks Association Far South Coast branch president David Gallan and Bermagui Community Forum deputy chair Narelle Myers.
The forum is at the Bermagui Community Hall on Sunday, February 24 at 4pm. Entry is free.
