The 63-year-old is already behind bars, but is facing six new charges relating to the sexual assault of a teenage boy under the age of 16 at the times the alleged offences took place – from 2010 to 2012.
These charges include aggravated sexual intercourse, sexual intercourse without consent and indecent assault.
The accused did not appear in Bega Local Court on Tuesday, January 29 when the matter was heard, before being adjourned to March 12 by Magistrate Doug Dick.
In September 2015 Van Ryn, who is currently incarcerated at Cessnock Correctional Centre, pleaded guilty to abusing nine children between 2003 and 2014 and was sentenced to 13 years and six months.
