Each week the Bombala Times publishes a photo from years gone by and asks readers if they can help identify any of the people in the photo.
This week, we’re easing you into 2019 with no need to guess at the year and location of the featured shot. Given the hot and dry conditions in recent weeks we figured a trip to the snowfields – of Maybe Street – would be a nice respite.
On Friday, January 4, Weatherzone reported a top temperature in Bombala of 37.5 degrees, 11 degrees above average. A quick change saw the mercury drop sharply to see Saturday’s recorded maximum at 23.2C and then 11.8mm of rain on Sunday.
New Year’s Day was also a scorcher, Bombala reaching 34.7C, nine degrees above the average for this time of year.
Temperatures remained well into the 30s since Christmas, including 35.5C on December 27, 11.8 degrees above average.
Stay tuned to the Bombala Times for more Golden Oldie trips back in time.
