Fees will continue to be waived for the disposal of vegetation due to the bushfire as long as the vegetation is free of contamination and noxious weeds, council said.
The depot’s regular hours of 10am to 2.30pm on Saturdays will begin on Monday, December 24, council said.
The hours were temporarily extended to meet demand created by the bushfire clean-up.
Asbestos waste from the bushfire will be accepted at the Central Waste Facility at Wanatta Lane for no charge but you will need to pre-book.
Current asbestos disposal protocols must be followed including contacting council to obtain a complying development certificate and written fee waiver prior to disposing of the waste.
If you have asbestos-free demolition waste from fire affected properties, take it to the Eden Waste and Recycling Depot at no charge.
You can check opening hours for all tips at www.begavalley.nsw.gov.au/waste or on the Bega Valley Waste App.
Property owners wanting to dispose of demolition waste from damaged and destroyed buildings must obtain a complying development certificate and written fee waiver prior to disposing of the waste and this can be arranged by contacting council on (02) 6499 2222.
Please contact council’s waste management coordinator, Joley Vidau, on (02) 6499 2222 for more information.
