Tathra cruised to a nine wicket win over Pambula after Adam Blacka claimed two wickets for just six runs from 7.1 overs, helping restrict the Bluedogs to just 133.
Tim Wilson top scored for Pambula with 28.
Peter Bennett’s 87 not out with the bat saw Tathra chase down the low target in just 18 overs, losing only the wicket of Nicholson for 24.
Mawby was the pick of the Pambula bowlers with 1/21 off three overs.
After setting South Eurobodalla 149 for victory from their 40 overs, Bega/Angledale restricted the visitors to just 112.
In trouble early, after losing Jack and Berry for just eight runs, Bermagui struggled to 7/188 from their 40 overs chasing Eden’s 9/238 at Dickinson Oval.
Mark Spink’s 76 and Creswick’s 51 helped Eden set the pace of the day, and despite a 119 run partnership between Andrew Pickard (58) and Joel Anderson (64), the total was too much for Bermagui.
Kameruka defeated Wolumla by three wickets, and with 17 overs left in the bag, after some late big hitting by skipper Jack Matthews at Lords View Oval.
Matthews struck two fours and two sixes in his 26 not out in helping chase down Wolumla’s 125 all out from 29 overs.
N Baker’s 3/52 with the ball keeping Wolumla in the game.
Kameruka batsmen Simon Szanto said the squad is looking forward to a competitive season.
“The game was a closer contest than the scores show, with both clubs looking to still be alive at the business end of the season,” he said.
Both Matthews and youngster Jay Stafford performed well with the ball for Kameruka, while David Schumann (23) and Rasheed Khan (21) chipped in with some handy runs.
Stafford’s 4/18 from eight overs was worthy of a Man of the Match honours.
Tathra sits on top of the table after four matches with Bega/Angledale trailing only on net run rate.
Merimbula and Mallacoota round off the top four.
Merimbula secured an easy 135 run win over Mallacoota.
Batting first Merimbula compiled 3/258 off their 40 overs before before restricting Mallacoota to just 5/123.
Tathra take on South Eurobodalla at home next week, while Bega/Angledale play Eden in Eden. Bermagui travel to Kameruka, and Wolumla team looking for a win will host Merimbula.
