A quickfire 21 from Pete Bennett set up an innings which saw Dwyer (45), O'Reilly (53), Blacka (50), Fletcher-Barrie (33) and Cunningham (56) all helped push Tathra’s score above the 300 mark.
Merimbula used eight different bowlers on the Tathra batting lineup, with Richmond going for a staggering 21 runs off his lone over.
Finishing on 7/302 from their 40 overs, Priem was the pick of the Merimbula bowlers with 2/48 off just six overs.
Requiring 7.58 runs an over, a knock of 90 not out from Tom Kellar wasn’t enough to get Merimbula over the line.
Colley’s 4/51 from just six overs saw him claim Lawson two runs short of a half century, Kumar (9), Richmond (1) and Harlow for a duck.
A 77 run opening stand from Daley and Lawson set up the run chase, before all Kellar could do was watch four wickets fall for just 36 runs at the other end.
Kellar and Wells (27) put on 71 for the sixth wicket, but it was all too much too late for Merimbula despite some wayward bowling from Tathra giving away 41 runs in extras.
Twelve wides and three no-balls in just five overs from Ryan was balanced by 2/32 off eight overs from Bennett, which included two maidens.
Colley said after what proved a long day in the field he was happy with the win.
“I’m glad I got a few wickets, but I could have been more tidy. I’m not happy about going for 51,” he said after the match.
“I’m dirty on myself for going for too many runs. AB [Adam Blacka] and Pete (Bennett) were tidy.
“It helps when they keep the pressure on at the other end.”
Colley praised Kellar’s patient knock, in which he said the Merimbula number three “didn’t give much away”.
In other games, Bega/Angledale’s 7/250 from 34 overs proved too many for Bermagui, who managed just 176 from their 40 overs at Dickinson Oval.
Top of the table Eden scraped together just 127 from 35 overs, it was far too much for Wolumla who were skittled for just 38 from 14.3 overs.
Mallacoota’s 4/226 was too much for a Kameruka side looking to stamp themselves on the competition.
Charles Nelson (131 not out) scoring the bulk of the runs for Mallacoota.
Despite some good batting from Ben Lawrence, Mitch Nelson and Simon Szanto (63), Kameruka were all out for 187 in reply.
