Volunteers at the Buckajo/Springvale RFS have another use for their fire hoses this Sunday, October 14, as they turn to washing cars as part of their annual fundraiser and open day. This will be a little more enjoyable for the crew compared to the 21 operations they attended at Yankees Gap.

Between 10am and 3pm head along to the fire shed at the corner of Buckajo Rd and Gillcrest Drive and you can not only get your car washed but also look for a bargain at the cake and preserves tables. You can also satisfy your hunger with the sausage sizzle and drinks.
Perhaps more importantly, during what has been an early start to the fire season, you can talk to brigade members about making a plan in the event of bush fire just like the Yankees Gap fire. The crew have a considerable amount of experience as well as material supplied by NSW RFS to help educate property owners about being prepared.
All proceeds will go to the Buckajo/Springvale RFS brigade.
