Last week was School Administrative and Support (SAS) Staff Recognition Week, a time to acknowledge and thank the often unsung heroes in schools.
Bombala PS thanked Katrina, Kirrilee and Abbey for their dedicated work in the office, for ensuring there is a strong line of communication between school and home, and in their support of all teaching staff and students.
Also thanked were Jan, Sharon, Margaret and Leanda for their dedicated effort in supporting teaching/learning programs to both staff and pupils across the school.
Meanwhile, treasures fit for a ship-full of storybook pirates were to be found at Bombala Public School last week.
On Thursday, September 6, the school was delighted to unearth a host of amazing book characters as pupils dressed up for the annual Book Week Parade.
Characters on show included Woody, Superman, Belle and the Beast, Little Red Riding Hood, Spiderman, Captain America, the Teletubbies, unicorns, pirates, Peter Pan, Count Dracula, Darth Vader, Jack Sparrow, Miranda from Picnic at Hanging Rock, the cow from Big Fat Cows, Harry Potter, Where’s Wally, Jokers, The Cat in the Hat, Grug, Thing 1 and Thing 2, the Queen of Hearts and many, many more.
Bombala Public School thanked the amazing crowd of parents, grandparents and friends who joined staff and children for the parade and the book fair afterwards.
