Pambula lifesaver Andrew Holt has taken out two prestigious awards at the Far South Coast Branch presentations held recently in Moruya.

Mr Holt, who was involved in the successful resuscitation of a surf boat competitor during the George Bass Marathon in January and was one of a crew of lifesavers sent to assist with the Tathra bushfire was named Lifeaver of the Year at the award ceremony.
He was also named Volunteer Branch Person of the Year for his work with Nippers competition, branch competition and other roles including support operations and as a duty officer.
Sue Hunt from Bermagui was presented with the Branch Presidents Award for her work as branch secretary and director of education.
Official of the Year was Paul White from Narooma while the Coach of the Year was Neil Innes from Batemans Bay.
Loretta Chapple from Tathra was named Club Person of the Year.
With the George Bass Marathon series figuring prominently in the competition calendar this season, it was the Phoenix women’s boat crew from Batemans Bay that took out team of the year.

Joe Halsey from the Narooma was named Male Competitor of the Year while the Female Competitor went to Ruth Burgess from Bermagui Surf Life Saving Club.
Jackson Blake from Batemans Bay was named overall Competitor of the Year, while the Surf Sports Award for consistency and effort went to Melissa Meaker from Tathra.
On the education and training front, Anthony Vella from Batemans Bay was named Training Officer of the Year, while deputy director of lifesaving Cheryl McCarthy was honoured with Administrator of the Year.
Rookie Lifesaver of the Year went to Riley Spoedler-Hanlon from Moruya .
Young Branch Person of the Year went to Liam Russell from Bermagui and the Dave Pheeney Patrol efficiency award was won by Moruya Surf Life Saving Club..
The senior-junior combined carnival at Pambula was awarded Carnival of the Year while Tathra took out the coveted Jack Beale Trophy for overall carnival point score.
Far South Coast Lifesaving branch president Tony Rettke concluded the awards ceremony by saying that all clubs in the branch had had a very successful season and thanked the many hundreds of volunteers, their families and the community for their continued support of lifesaving on the Far South Coast.
