We’ve helped evacuees find people who helped out on the day.
- Deb Alker
With hundreds of homes having their mail on hold, or being redirected, at the same time, it’s been a busy period for the post office’s Deb and Ian Alker.
“I’ve had stuff in the shed - everywhere,” Ms Alker said.
Ms Alker said donations have been regularly arriving by post from across the country.
She said she has also received letters from tourists looking to reconnect with locals they met on the day of the bushfire.
“We’ve helped evacuees find people who helped out on the day,” she said.
She said it has been an emotional time watching the town rebuild, but said everyone is joining together to help out.
