“Seniors will generally talk to us before they talk to a nurse,” Bega Valley Meals on Wheels board chair and treasurer of the NSW board, Carolyn McColl said.
Hosted by Bega Valley Meals on Wheels, Friday’s Bega Valley Seniors Extravaganza brought 70 senior citizens together for a free meal and entertainment by The Fabulous Wobbles as part of this year’s statewide Seniors Week.
Ms McColl said Seniors Week events are important for residents unable to socialise regularly.
“A lot of these people don’t get out much, and today they can meet their old friends in a safe environment,” David Atkins said.
