However, the Tura bartender has done away with both, raising almost $2000 for the World’s Greatest Shave at a very public trimming in front of almost 200 people at the Tura Beach Country Club on Friday.
The money was raised through club goer donations and support from the club’s board.
After setting the somewhat modest target of raising about $300, Buschy, who has kept something of a ‘grizzly’ appearance for the best part of a decade said he was overwhelmed by the support.
“I’m blown away by the support and I want to thank everyone who has chipped in,” Mr Busch said. “The reaction has been incredible.”
‘Buschy’ let co-workers run rampant with the clippers who were just as excited to see the hair come off.
Most patrons of the club couldn’t remember Mr Busch without his long hair or beard as it’s been a fixture for the best part of a decade.
“I’ve been working here for seven years and never seen Stuie with short hair,” Kimberley Mills said.
Feeling the chill after losing the winter coat, Mr Busch was quick to don a green wig for St Patrick’s Day on Saturday and prank club goers saying he’d only coloured his hair. The weekend was the 20th annual World’s Greatest Shave.
