“This message is of particular significance in Merimbula, as some of our most popular outdoor locations lie within the flight path for aircraft taking off and landing at Merimbula Airport, namely Short Point, Merimbula Boat Ramp, Bar Beach and Main Beach,” council said.
“The major concern is an accidental collision between a drone and another aircraft and drone pilots need to understand the restrictions that apply when using drones near airports.”
For more information on drone use contact the federal government’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority.
