Both teams found their solitary goal in the second half as the two squads matched pace and skill with play fluctuating end to end at the Wolumla Recreation Ground.
The Penguins hold down third on the competition table behind the Tigers with both clubs trailing the competition-leading Bega Devils with just one home and away round remaining.
The Devils had a bye in the first grade draw, while the Tathra first graders clinched a 2-0 win over the Grasshoppers.
The first grade game capped off a mixed bag for the Tigers, where the ladies’ outfit was able to claim a 2-0 win over the Penguinettes, but the reserves suffered a tight 1-0 loss to the Pambula club.
The reserve grade loss is a sour result for the Tigers as their first mark this season on an otherwise flawless record after 12 rounds.
Bega Red holds third with the Merimbula Grasshoppers clinging to second on the reserve ladder.
The Reds were kept to a 1-1 draw when they met the Eden Killer Whales over the weekend.
Meanwhile, in women’s the Tigresses are holding down third on the competition table with Eden leading the charge from the Pambula contingent.
The Tathra ladies capped off a neat 4-0 win over the Grasshoppers and are sitting in fourth on the table.
The final regular draws of the season will be held this Sunday with finals to start in earnest the following week.
