Included among the candidates are former Bombala mayor Bob Stewart and former councillor Sue Haslingden.
There are two groups on the ticket with Bob Stewart of Bombala, John Last of Cooma and Anne Maslin of Gunningrah forming Group A .
Group B is Andrew Thaler and Alisa Thaler of Nimmitabel.
Mr Stewart said he’d had conversations with a few different people and that as a result he thought there would be more groups on the ticket than there are.
“The whole thing is new and we don’t know if it will be beneficial or disadvantageous to us. With only two groups, it’s going to be a good and a long road to hoe.
“We are hopeful that our group will get in, especially with Anne Maslin on board,” he said.
Mr Stewart went on to say that the group would be meeting when Ms Maslin returned from overseas, “which will be soon”.
“However my personal preference would be to give our first preferences to Sue Haslingden, but that will be determined when the group next meets,” he said.
The Bombala Times will be canvassing all our candidates in the weeks to come to learn their views on key issues for our region.
