The site is one of 39 across NSW that will see improved mobile coverage by October 2018 in the second round of the program, according to Minister for Regional Communications Fiona Nash.
The Government’s national map of reported mobile black spots shows at least 30 black spots in the Bega Valley, including at least 10 between Eden and Merimbula.
The first round of the program saw improved mobile coverage at Towamba and Nethercote.
Applications were received from Optus, Telstra and Vodafone and were assessed and ranked according to the assessment criteria outlined in the program guidelines.
Minister Nash said rollout schedules were meant as an indication and could be subject to change.
“The telecommunications companies are using all their available resources over the next couple of years delivering the 765 towers we’ve already contracted,” she said.
Bombala, Delegate and Tathra all feature in the government’s list of 125 priority locations but have missed out in the first two rounds.
