Coach Kirsty McPaul said it was a massive effort from her side as the team went into the match with no bench and missing some key players.
She said to save what energy they could players rotated around and she praised everyone who stepped up in positions they’re not accustomed to.
Sam Johnson took charge for the Panthers with an on-point passing game to score a handy pair of goals.
“She provided some perfect crosses and lay backs and keeping up the talk on the field,” McPaul said.
The coach also heaped praise on Lisa Oldham, who worked hard out of the defensive line and and chimed in to score the club’s third goal on a length-of-the-field burst.
“No one was going to get in her way as she charged from the back line to score from the top of the box,” McPaul said.
McPaul said the day was won through the middle and the hard-working back line as the Grasshoppers struggled to get many forward opportunities.
This week, the club heads to Tathra and McPaul said it will be a big challenge for the ladies.
“It will definitely be a challenge for us, but hopefully we can give it a fair shot,” she said.
The club’s first grade roster will also face the Tathra United club at the Tathra Beach Country Club ground on Sunday.
The ladies will run at 12.30pm with firsts after.
