The Cobargo centre is a showroom for local artists and also hosts events.
One of the organisers of the fundraiser and president of the Cobargo Creators, Veronica Abbott said that the money would pay for pay for public liability and volunteers insurance for another year.
“This helps to keep the centre open where local people can bring in their creations to sell. With our insurances paid for the year any money we make can now go back into the local community to help sponsor young artists, provide awards at local schools and help support local artistic people,” Ms Abbott said.
“It all helps to improve the creative capital of the community and the centre contributes to helping make the community sustainable,” she added.
The fundraiser, the second of its type, was a trivia night themed around the Roaring 20s. Almost 100 people, many dressed in costume, filled Cobargo School of Arts Hall.
Quiz mistress Alicia Cowin kept the questions coming in between music from the Dodgy Prawn Jazz Band. There were opportunities for those struggling with questions to buy some answers or even attempt to bribe some of the organisers.
The Fandangles, who possibly left with slightly emptier wallets, were declared the winning table for the trivia competition while the best dressed table was the Frivolous Follies.
Margaret Goddard and Caroline Long were awarded the best dressed prize and best dressed couple went to Chris and John Walters.
