A talent quest will be running at the Bombala RSL Club throughout the day, while the first ever Rotary Markets are taking place at Railway Parkland in the morning and the Historical Society is holding a walk and talk along Maybe St in the afternoon.
The Bombala and District Country Music Club is holding its annual talent quest at the RSL Club starting at 10am and it’s not all country music.
Coordinator of the talent quest Marilyn Giles said that although entries had closed on February 15, they would be accepting entries right up until the quest.
“One section of the talent quest is the sub-junior section of 12 years and under where the entrants will receive a certificate and medallion for competing,” Ms Giles said.
“The juniors can perform any act that they like, we are not stipulating that it has to be country music.”
Entry forms for the talent quest can be downloaded from the Bombala and District Country Music Facebook page and/or phoned through to Ms Giles on 6458 2021.
“I’ll take entries over the phone right up to the day,” Ms Giles said.
While the talent quest is an annual event, the Rotary Markets are a first for Bombala and they are shaping up to be a big affair.
There are over 60 stalls booked and organisers say there is something for the whole family at the markets, which will be located at Railway Parkland between 8am and 2pm.
For the kids there is a jumping castle, fairy floss, pony rides and more. Mum and dad are well catered for with a variety of stalls and the Rotary Van will be there all day cooking delicious food.
At 1pm interested members of the public and representatives from the Bombala and District Historical Society are holding a walk and talk up Maybe St, meeting at Paddy Lomas’s old garage.
