ABC’s Radio National cuts music programming
This decision has nothing at all to do with funding or the lack of it. This is about a cultural decision to make RN talky talk and ABC Classic FM all music. Personally, I like the way RN mixes it up - I really don't want to have to be flipping from one to another.

This is a real kick in the guts for the whole community, perhaps a community radio is the way to go. I really sympathize because of Malcolm's cuts everyone is suffering.

As a radio producer l honestly think that RN is the home of great docos and interviews. I've been really disappointed over the last few years at how much the station has been overloaded by music programming. I'm hopeful that this decision means more opportunities for content produced by members of the community. Every radio station in the country will pay musicians if they play their music, only the ABC will pay me if they play my content.

Just get rid of ABC all together. The tax payer generated funds that are poured into it could be invested into other areas like transport, health and Infrastructure.

So I see nothing has changed down there in 30 years and rent a crowd is still pretending to be locals fighting for the future of our forests. Well rent a crowd if you go up to Myrtle Mountain (a local would know where that is), you’ll see thick bushland that was logged in the ’70s. Hmmm I thought you guys said it would all die back then? Was that your parents? Hmmmm.
