Graduating student John Canning-Casey plans to join the Royal Australian Navy, focusing on a career as an aviation technician.
“I’m beyond keen,” he said with a smile ahead of his move to Melbourne for training after his HSC exams.
“I’ve always been interested in construction engineering.”
School president Maddie Gordon has put her cycling training on hold during her final year of school and is excited to start racing again.
“I’ll be heading to France for two years and then I’ll come back to study in Sydney,” she said.
The school’s head of science, Beth Worthy, told students their “sense of uniqueness” will be a strength to carry into the next phase of their lives, and reinforced the need to never stop learning.
The school held a formal assembly later in the day in front of family and friends.
This year’s HSC exams begin on Thursday, October 13.
