Council plans for hospital
I am sure they have something great planned for the building, but I get a little frustrated at their spending, especially after being told they had no money when I questioned a toilet being put in the new Bega park!

I reckon an organisation in the Valley like housing should buy that for all the homeless people in the Valley and make it like a hostel.

I cannot believe it. They must have dollars to burn. What will they do with it? I hope someone fills us in. How many buildings do they want!

The community of Eden and surrounds cried when the Hotel Australasia was sold off to private developers and was over the moon when council secured it. Here is one of the Valley's main pieces of community-owned heritage and there is so much upset over council securing it. Councils taking over old public hospitals is not new (i.e Orange Hospital).

A tertiary campus there will be great for the Valley.

Some of the land on the bottom side would be a good site for a purpose built community centre. A bit like what Eurobodalla has in most of its larger towns.

I hope they give it to the people of Bega, let them decide its future. The many homeless in the area would benefit, a secure place to sleep, bathe and eat.
Where the many struggling families could go for a decent feed.
A day respite for the elderly and intellectually impaired, where they can talk and share with others there.
A place to teach the unemployed.
A place youth can go without fear of being bullied to enjoy drug-free activities.
A cinema.
Many community-based activities.
Let the Bega community decide, after all you paid for it with their rates.
