So far this month we have had two local events to raise money for the Cancer Council NSW, and there’s even another Biggest Morning Tea scheduled for today!
The folk at Currawarna got the ball rolling last Tuesday, May 19 with residents and staff welcoming around 20 guests along to enjoy a cuppa for a cause.
The morning tea raised around $170 for the Cancer Council and proved a very pleasant social morning, and we hear that the lovely homemade cakes were still being enjoyed at Currawarna a couple of days later!
The Delegate MPS was the next cab off the rank, teaming up with the Year 6 students of the Delegate Public School to present a cheerful spread last Thursday, May 21.
The event was a wonderful success, raising an incredible $703 for the Cancer Council, proving once again that Delegate is a small town with a big heart!
This figure includes proceeds from the raffle and the morning tea itself, plus a special donation from the ladies of Delegate’s Tuesday Club.
And of course the Delegate students played an important role in the annual fundraiser, cooking, baking and delivering some very tasty goodies and assisting on the day.
So, who’s still thirsty? Luckily there is a Biggest Morning Tea scheduled for today!
The Contact Group will be hosting a Biggest Morning Tea on Wednesday, May 27. The event will be held in the Function Room at the Bombala Community Centre from 10am-12pm, so come along and share a cuppa, conversation and some fun activities with the Contact Group for a great cause.
