Discounted early bird entry to race closes on May 31, but riders are still able to enter online until the Friday of the June long weekend showdown.

Race organiser Andrew Johnson said the fifth running of the Enduro is shaping up well, with entries now flowing in and interest in Tathra as a mountain bike destination at an all-time high.
“Tathra has been under the spotlight in recent weeks – with Canberra’s peak mountain bike club – CORC bringing 40 women down for a specialist camp,” Johnson said.
“We’ve also run two lead up races as part of the Tarra Volkswagen Winter Warmer Series to familiarise locals with the course and lift their levels of fitness.
“As a result I think we’ll see increased local and women’s participation, which is very encouraging.”
Event organisers are also using this year’s Enduro to promote the Bega Valley Shire Council’s new bike safety program – ‘It’s A Two Way Street.’
The program, developed by the Amy Gillett Foundation, aims to educate cyclists and car drivers on safely sharing the road.
The Enduro offers five mountain bike events to suit varying ages, levels of skill and fitness.
The afternoon of June 6 young riders can line up for the free Bega Cheese Children’s Chase – a lap ride over one or three kilometres.
This will be followed by the Lap-It-Up 5km, 10km or 20km single track events, which are designed to boost confidence and will be raced over the fun schools track.
On Sunday, racing steps up a notch with the marathon style events.
The King Nelba 100km, the Mitas Rubena 50km and the Tuff 25km.
These events require a higher level of fitness and skill with experience on single track.
“We’ve really worked hard to offer events for all levels of riders, using courses that are both encouraging and challenging,” Johnson said.
“By doing this, the entire family will get the opportunity to ride and experience the Tathra trails.”
The event, co-run by the Tathra MTB Club and Clean Energy for Eternity, is again raising funds for solar energy projects and maintenance of the Tathra MTB trail network.
Funds from last year’s event went towards the recently launched Imagine solar farm at the Tathra treatment works.
