With 19 actors and five musicians from Sapphire Coast Anglican College, Bega High School and Lumen Christi Catholic College from Years 7-12, under the direction of Mahamati and David Stocker and with musical direction by Rachelle Blick, this will be a show not to miss.
In Theatre, a youth theatre company for high school aged students, has been quiet over the last few years, but with Seeking Sita, is back with a bang!
The story is an Indian classic - Rama, Prince of Ayodhya and a god incarnate, is banished from the kingdom of his father, King Dasharat.
Sita, his beautiful wife, goes with him as does his loyal brother Lakshman.
They spend 14 years in exile.
In the last year of their banishment the Demon King, Ravana, steals Sita away from Rama and Lakshman.
With the help of the fabulously well-trained army of the Monkey Kingdom, they battle Ravana and his demon horde on the beautiful and plump island of Lanka.
Performance dates are Friday, May 29, Saturday, May 30, and then June 4, 5 and 6.
All performances are at the Bega High School Hall at 7.30pm.
Tickets are available at the door for $20, $15 concession, or $10 students.
The play is suitable for ages 10 and over.
