The supermarket gives a fruit tray to the paediatrics ward each week, a fruit tray to mandatory education, supports special occasions such as Easter and Christmas and will support the hospital on International Nurses Day on May 12 with a barbecue.
Also, Woolworths recently donated $10,000 to the South East Regional Hospital for outdoor play equipment and escort vehicles to take kids to surgery.
Last Friday, Bega Hospital thanked Bega Woolworths, presenting store manager Matt Jorgensen with a certificate of appreciation for the supermarket’s support.
Mr Jorgensen said Woolworths donated to Bega Hospital as the hospital was an integral part of the community.
“It is important for us to be giving back to the community,” he said.
