The popular winter sport provided some thrilling, maybe a little rusty, action across as many as three fields from the junior grades right through to the open men's.
Four of the association's C grade juniors have been named in school state sides with more information to come, while the senior grades are looking as fierce as ever.
In B grade matches Pambula was on the defensive as Tathra raided the goals repeatedly.
However, the Pambula goalie was stoic and kept short a number of Tathra advances, to only concede one goal.
Unfortunately, the Pambula front line couldn't outdo the impeccable defense of Tathra to go down at the full-time siren.
On field one Candelo was proving too strong for the B grade Elders outfit with rapid fire goals in the first half.
The squad also dominated possession in the second set of play to secure a convincing win.
in the first round of A and A reserve grade matches it was United looking strong against Pambula.
The first 20 minutes of the match was almost entirely in Pambula's defensive end as the United women pressed the attack.
On the other field, Tathra was putting in a dominant showing against LJ Hooker.
However, the game was played in good spirit and the teams especially enjoyed a laugh when a strike on the goals by Tathra was stopped by the goalie, but the ball had landed behind her feet.
A Tathra player quickly swooped in behind to secure the point as the LJ Hooker team could only laugh and yell "it's behind you!".
