While council already has approval to obtain the land, it needs to formalise ownership as well as easements for underground electricity, a right of carriageway and an easement for utilities.
Council’s plans were passed unanimously at council’s meeting on April 8, where Crs Keith Hughes and Ann Mawhinney were absent.
The council decided to acquire the land for a sewage treatment plant in 2005, and later that year the Department of Lands gave its permission for the construction.
Crown Lands and the former Wolumla Showground Trust have already given their consent for the acquisition of land.
To complete the acquisition of land, the council must now apply to the Minister for Local Government.
