The Under 18s match of Cooma vs Gungahlin Bulls saw Bombala’s Tyler Jones, Adam Rodwell and Luke Ingram display great skill for the Cooma side, each of these local players scoring points and featuring heavily in a convincing win 48-4.
Bombala’s Chloe Hodak represented the South side of the Group 16 ladies by playing in the first Group 16 Ladies Rugby League match. Unfortunately South side were defeated 12-6, but the side put in a very valiant effort.
The exhibition match featuring the Indigenous vs Group 16 All Stars proved to be a very entertaining match. Bombala’s Paul Perkins, Brett Hodak and Murray Jackson were key players in the All Star’s side, whose presence was noticeable particularly in the second half when the team eventually ran away with the win at 22-12.
Perkins bagged his own try with an impressive scoop from dummy half, evading defence and making it over the try line.
The 2015 Rugby League season continues to prove promising for Bombala. Excitement mounts as Bombala’s First Grade and Ladies League Tag team continue to train hard and look forward to the season starting.
Stay tuned for next week’s Bombala Times with more details on the 2015 Group 16 competition.
