At around 7am on March 2 a 59 year old Victorian truck driver was driving south along the Monaro Highway in heavy fog. The driver was attempting a right hand bend, and with no lines marked on the road, the truck left the highway, rolling over, spilling the load of logs into an embankment and grass field.
As a result of the collision one south bound lane was closed.
The driver was able to exit the vehicle and suffered some injuries. Police, ambulance and fire brigade were in attendance at the location, and the driver was conveyed to Bombala Hospital for further treatment for minor injuries, which included bruising to his left shoulder and a small laceration to his forehead.
Also in attendance at the location was a heavy vehicle inspector from Bega Roads and Maritime services. The truck was inspected at the location and issued with a defect notice via Roads and Maritime services.
