It had been a three-week break from the field for the Candelo-Bemboka rugby league reserve grade outfit.
“After the three weeks off we had a game and now we’re just picking up from where we left off,” Inskip said.
“We were a bit short and now we will be better for the run.”
The club has a second chance to make the grand final with a match against the Moruya Sharks in Bega on Sunday.
Inskip said a number of the players had been involved in grand finals with their former clubs, so pressure would not crack them.
He also hoped to see the club make the big stage in its return season.
“That is sort of my personal motivation is that Tathra and Cobargo did it.
“With footballers in general I suppose the goal is always to play in as many grand finals as you can and it would be a shame to fall off so close,”
Inskip said the team should be more coherent than in last week’s clash.
“Definitely a bit more fluid, we had chances to run away with the game and get the victory, but it wasn’t as crisp as what it could have been.
“We had a couple of errors and dropped balls, we also took the wrong option a couple of times.
“It is just continual football that gets rid of some of the errors we showed.”
The line-up for Sunday’s clash with Moruya will go relatively unchanged from last week, and Inskip hopes it will show on the field.
“Everyone will know where they have to be and who they will have on the inside and outside of them on the park.”
Inskip hoped to see an army of teal supporters at the Bega Rec Ground on Sunday.
“Being a reserve grade side we don’t have the chance to host a home final, a Bega final is as home as it gets for us.
“So get your teal colours out and give us your support,” he said.
The Panthers will kickoff against the Sharks from 12.45pm at the Bega Rec Ground.
