The boxes are sent right across the globe, bringing joy and hope to children affected by poverty, war and natural disasters.
Specially printed boxes are available from the Bombala Times office or from Glad Hurley by phoning 6458 3316 or Raelene Stevenson on 6458 3241.
The boxes come with pamphlets advising of appropriate gifts including toys, yo-yos, pencils, writing paper, sunglasses, combs, skipping ropes, necklaces, underwear and tee-shirts.
The gifts need not be expensive, just appropriate to the child’s age group and gender.
Sticking to the pamphlet guidelines, participants can fill their boxes with the goodies and pay the $9 fee to get each box to its destination in time for Christmas.
Participants are asked to return their filled boxes, with the appropriate label attached, to either the Times office or Ms Hurley by Friday, October 24.
