Man hospitalised after alleged main street assault

AN ALLEGED assault on Carp St in the early hours of Sunday morning saw one man taken to Bega Hospital.

According to police, officers from Bega Police intervened in an altercation between a 27-year-old Brogo man and a 20-year-old Bega man at 12.15am on Sunday morning on Carp St.

According to information supplied to the BDN the incident took place outside a licensed premises.

A police spokesperson said one of the men was conveyed to Bega Hospital, but was later released.

Police will be reviewing CCTV footage from the location and speaking to witnesses this week to see if further action will be taken.

Bega Police are also keen to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident.
