THE Nethercote Music Factory is presenting Beautifully Mad at the Nethercote Hall on May 14.
Beautifully Mad is ARIA Award-winning Tony King and Nina Vox (aka Kris Ralph), who will be accompanied by Hamish Stewart on drums and Peter Badenoch on bass.
They recently moved to the Bega Valley after performing regularly here for years.
King fell in love with the area after performing as Madam Pat Thompson's bass player for 25 years.
King was Australian songwriter of the year 2009 and played lead guitar for Andrew Strong’s band The Commitments.
Ralph was an actor for many years, performing with actors such as Russel Crowe and Christina Amphlett of the Divinyls.
Ralph also trained under jazz icon Kerrie Biddell and works as a jazz singer under the name Nina Vox.
The pair have been involved with the Radio Comedy series How Green Was My Cactus since its inception in 1986, still writing the occasional script and doing sound effects and music for their live shows.
"Like many local musicians such as Heath Cullen, Lucie Thorne, Daniel Champagne, Kim Churchill and Kade Brown, we will base ourselves here, create here and tour when we need to,” Ralph and King said.
“We are about to tour with our band to Canada in June.
“We will also set up a local studio and are keen to collaborate with, and mentor young local talent.
“There is definitely something in the water in the Bega Valley, producing incredible talent!”
The concert starts at 7.30pm, tickets will be sold at the door $20 for adults or $15 concession.
