Around 70 senior competitors and 250-plus Nippers from eight different clubs are expected to descend on the beach for the event.
The Far South Coast branch covers clubs from Pambula in the south to Batemans Bay in the north – including Tathra and Bermagui.
Jindabyne is also sending a team down the mountain for the Nippers carnival.
Saturday will be when the seniors – Under 15s through to Masters – shine, while the juniors will claim the beach on Sunday morning.
Surf Life Saving NSW Far South Coast director of surf sports Melissa Meaker said the senior champions will be crowned on the weekend as the Tathra event is the culmination of the season.
For the Nippers, Sunday’s contests are the third in a series that started at Moruya and continued at Narooma.
Junior champions will come from the combined efforts at all three.
As well as the surf boats on Saturday morning, seniors will compete in surf ski, board paddling and swimming events, beach sprints and flag races.
Juniors take on all but the boats and skis.
Ms Meaker said Broulee husband and wife Scott and Simone Elliott claimed honours over much of last season and have been competing strongly again this season.
Tathra youngster Jesse Hoyland-Meaker is a strong local chance and expected to perform well in both the Under 19s and Open events.
Spectators on the beach both days are welcome.
