The deadline for online entries is midnight Wednesday.
If prospective participants don’t meet that deadline, then have no fear.
Competitors can still register for an event from Saturday morning at the Tathra Surf Life Saving Club.
The event’s major sponsor is Bega Cheese and the Wharf to Waves will be held this Saturday and Sunday.
The Wharf to Waves has grown over the past 10 years and is now one of the premier events on the Far South Coast calendar every January.
The event will get underway this Saturday at 2.30pm with the Coastlife Tathra Beach 2km Fun Run.
The run starts just north of the Tathra Beach Country Club and finishes in front of the Tathra Surf Life Saving Club.
At 5pm on Saturday, the bike ride will begin for mountain biking enthusiasts.
Participants will leave the Tarraganda fire shed and travel over Dr George Mountain to Tathra, finishing at the surf club.
Transport for people and their bikes is available from the Tathra Surf Club, but they need to book online in advance.
Tathra Wharf to Waves organising committee representative Therese Wheatley said the bike ride is expected to attract good numbers.
“We expect a lot of mountain bike riders,” she said.
“If people haven’t registered, they can do so at the Tarraganda fire shed, but they must be there at 4pm.”
The Tathra Wharf to Waves ocean swim events will be held from 8.30am on Sunday.
The main race, the 1200m Finns Pest Control Splash for Cash, will begin at 11.30am.
The Splash for Cash is open to competitors over 12 years of age and last year’s winners were Bega’s Zoe Harris and Canberra’s John Fox.
Wheatley said competitors should register early for the swimming events, as numbers were limited to 200.
The Tathra Public School P&C committee will run a market day on Sunday from 8am until 2pm.
The Wharf to Waves will conclude with a presentation at the surf club on Sunday evening.
The Truck Brothers will perform from 5pm and Mal’s Pizza Bite will be supplying pizzas.
