The young metal group includes Bombala’s Jack Baldwin, along with members from across the south coast area, Matt Olm, John Agnez, Zack Jenkin and Zachary Alexander.
The group rehearses at the Jam Tin in Pambula most weekends, but was thrilled to play at The Basement in Belconnen on November 30.
Nocturnal Hours was invited to play at ‘The Festive Season’ event by hosts, Phil Turner, Anthony Payten and Adrian Mark, with help from fellow musician, Heath Holloway.
Five other metal bands played on the night, including Miscreation, Psynonemous, Hematic, Imperilment and headlining band, Perpetual End, with the locals being promoted as “south coast heavy kids taking the Canberra stage for the first time”.
Nocturnal Hours didn’t start their performance until 1am, but were thrilled with their night and received some great reviews, leading to them to being invited back to play again.
While the date is yet to be set, this is a big achievement for the young band, with The Basement being considered one of the most well renowned metal venues in Australia.
Previous bands that have played there include Chelsea Grin, I Killed the Prom Queen and Thy Art is Murder, with Psynonemous having played alongside the world famous, Cradle of Filth.
Making the most of The Basement opportunity, Nocturnal Hours released their brand new EP, Eye for an Eye, on the night, and the seven song recording is now for sale for just $10.
And you can grab your copy at the Bombala Street Carnival tomorrow night, because Nocturnal Hours will be playing live on stage from 8.30pm. Don’t miss your chance to hear them for the first time!
