AS INDIGENOUS culture is celebrated around the country this NAIDOC Week, visitors to the Bega Valley Regional Gallery were treated to a very special exhibition opening on Friday night.
Monaroo Bobberrer Gudu – People of the Mountains and the Sea is now on display as part of the gallery’s annual contemporary Indigenous exhibition.
The artworks feature a range of diverse mixed-media pieces from Eden artists - including shell Harbour Bridges, snake sticks and intricately painted stories.
The exhibition is a celebration of local Indigenous culture and heritage with an emphasis on sustainable preservation.
New work titled Whiteout by Indigenous artist Michael Brogan is also on display.
The exhibition will run until August 10.
