Packed with exciting free seminars, entertaining and inspiring live demonstrations, hundreds of latest and greatest woodworking products to purchase, along with daily interactive activities, the Sydney Timber and Working With Wood Show is on from Friday, June 4 to Sunday, June 6.
According to Show Organiser Patrick O'Reilly, the Sydney Timber and Working With Wood Show has something for all Bombala residents, and you can win tickets easily through the Bombala Times.
"Whether you're a hobbyist, renovator, tradesperson, amateur woodworker or just after a great day out for the whole family, the Sydney Timber and Working with Wood Show is for you," he said.
One of the major attractions at this year's Show is a special guest appearance by Angela Polglaze - an internationally renowned chainsaw sculptor who practices the extreme art of power sculpting to carve vibrant and detailed timber sculptures of Australian animals.
"During the inspiring and entertaining free seminar on chainsaw carving, Angela will show local residents how she transforms slabs of timber into intricate sculptures and totems, whist providing tips for choosing the best type of timber for sculpting, and her ideas behind her sculptures," says Patrick.
In addition to Angela's workshop, the other free seminars and workshops conducted by industry experts will cover all aspects of wood work with topics from making the router work for you to simple wood finishing techniques being included.
Also on offer will be sessions revolving around hand hewing a comfy garden bench and wood turning techniques, furniture renovation and how to build the Great Australian Bush Dunny!
"Don't miss the spectacular Cross Cut Saw Race presented by Stan 'the man' Ceglinski. The record to beat is 29 seconds, so come and test your strength," said Patrick.
"Les Miller, our resident DIY expert and radio personality, will take woodworking enthusiasts at the Show through a range of seminars, including how to get the perfect wood finish and making your own tool box," he said.
The latest machinery plus hand and power tools will be on display and available for purchase, as well as a wide range of timber and finished products such as artistic sculptures, contemporary and stylish furniture, and amazing woodturned artefacts.
For Bombala residents who are looking to take up woodwork as a hobby, local clubs have displays and members are on hand to discuss their club's activities.
Bombala residents can also win some fantastic prizes, along with some great discounts from exhibitors. For the first time, local residents can join Club Woody to enjoy great benefits including discounted Show entry, quarterly newsletters with the latest in show and exhibitor product news, discounted Club Woody merchandise, and more (to join visit: www.workingwithwood.com).
