At the lunch, the diocesan historian, Father Brian Maher, launched "A Journey in Faith - St Colomba's Church. A Century of Catholic Life in Bemboka".
Father Paul Bateman was the sole editor of Part 1 of the book with Geoff and Ellen Bevitt, Joh Graves and Sandra Florance co-authors of Part II.
The book covers the beginning of priestly ministrations in Bemboka by visiting priests, the church at Lyttleton from 1875 to 1904 and the church at Bemboka from 1905-1908.
It then goes on to the present building and its history.
There are baptismal records from 1864 to 1920 and photos of weddings and school photos.
