TWO locally developed netball players have been named as a members of the new AIS Canberra Darters National Netball League team.
They are Loren Trimble and Susan Pratley who are now part of the 13 strong AIS-based team.
Loren who was named only recently said she is still coming to terms with her selection.
"I haven't really been able to put it in perspective yet," she said, at home in Bega after finishing studies in sports coaching at the University of Canberra. "To think I'll be playing with and against some of the people I've always admired."
The new team was officially launched this week.
The team is named after the Darter, a "sleek and athletic bird, which can be found on waterways across Australia", according to the Netball Australia release.
The AIS Canberra Darters team members are Kodie Blay (WA), Katie Bradstock (NSW), Carla Dziwoki (SA), Mandy Edwards (SA), Jane Fitzgerald (SA), Bianca Franklin (WA), Polini Langi (ACT), Jackie Murphy (NSW), Kirby Mutton (SA), Lauren Nourse (SA), Susan Pratley (NSW), Bianca Reddy (SA), Rebecca Strachan (Vic), Corinne Tippett (ACT), Loren Trimble (ACT), Hayley Warne (Vic).
Head coach Norma Plummer is looking forward to the start of the season and the Darters first game is on April 25, 2003.
