The Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe weather warning on Tuesday afternoon for heavy rain and damaging winds across the South Coast and Illawarra districts.
The warning continued into Wednesday before being cancelled about 3pm as the low pressure system moved slowly east.
There was also a marine warning from the Roads and Maritime Services for boaters on the water near Eden that continued into Wednesday.
About 2.30pm on Wednesday the Princes Hwy was closed in both directions north of Cobargo after a tree fell across the road, but it was opened again about 3.30pm.
The BOM was reporting official rainfall readings of 61mm in Bega for the 24 hours to 9am Wednesday, 77mm in Bemboka, 46mm in Regatta Point and 62mm at Merimbula Airport.
There is also a reading of 100mm falling on Brogo Dam in the 24-hour period while the dam itself reached 103.1metres at 2.30pm Wednesday afternoon, an increase from about 102.5metres the previous day.
Bega River reached a high of 1.78metres at 2.30pm Wednesday.
BDN Facebook readers also sent in their own backyard readings with 90mm in Tathra, 72mm in Kameruka, 82mm in Wyndham and a drenching 124mm in Towamba.
Chris Hearn from the Bermagui Country Club golf pro shop estimated 80-90mm had fallen in the town over Monday and Tuesday night.

Over the night of December 6 last year, 126.2mm had fallen in Bega, 60mm fell in Bermagui, and Merimbula received 71mm.
During these floods, the Brogo Dam peaked at 105.6metres on the morning of December 7, and the Bega River reached 6.22metres around the same time.
