The Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe weather warning on Tuesday afternoon for heavy rain and damaging winds across the South Coast and Illawarra districts.
There was also a marine warning from the Roads and Maritime Services for boaters on the water near Eden that continues into Wednesday.
The BOM was reporting official rainfall readings of 61mm in Bega for the 24 hours to 9am Wednesday, and 62mm at Merimbula Airport.
There is also a reading of 100mm falling on Brogo Dam in the 24-hour period.
BDN Facebook readers also sent in their own backyard readings with 72mm in Kameruka, 82mm in Wyndham and a drenching 124mm in Towamba.
