Both black and striped marlin have been tagged and released by local game fishers out of Merimbula. There are some nice dolphin fish (Mahi Mahi) at the FAD.

Taken at the 500 fathom line on 15kg line, trolling a Halco Diver lure from his father's vessel Reel Jem.
Surely an impressive portent for the club's Merimbula Open Tournament scheduled for the Queen's Birthday weekend in early June.
Some large ocean flathead and gummy shark have been taken off Tura Headland and Bournda Island at depths of 20-22 fathoms.
Australian salmon is often the best bait which is tough enough to stand a bite or two. There are also flathead in Twofold Bay, try in from the Boyds Tower Reef.
Snapper are biting at White Rock out of Kianniny, Long Point, Haycock, Lennards Island and the Boyds Tower reef area at Eden.
Best results when anchored and using burley with either; soft plastics, micro jigs and pilchard or squid baits. Try 15-20 fathoms.
Salmon frequent the beaches at Tura, Main, Haycock and Aslings. Fish the top of the tide using gang hooked pilchards for bait.
At the Merimbula Fishing Platform squid are best caught after dark. Two good size kingfish were landed during the past week.
Australian salmon and tailor are chasing cast hard body lures. Some sea mullet have entered the Merimbula channel and are taking small soft plastics, both green and red colours are working.
Best results for Merimbula Lake will be from the channel downstream of the bridge.
Sea mullet, Australian salmon, trevally, bream, dusky flathead, whiting and tailor are available and all biting well. Try at change of tide using pumped nippers and soft plastics. For those using worms and pumped nippers there are a lot of whiting along main beach south of Ford Park.
In Pambula Lake both trevally and dusky flathead remain in the channel both sides of the Shark Hole.
Try for dusky flathead around the Mogareeka Bridge. Target the duskys with swim bait lures, soft plastics and bait. Up river towards Thompsons some lovely bream are available on the south side, using pumped nippers.
