Only two A grade fixtures were completed and they both have significant ramifications for the makeup of the finals series.
In the southern pool Eden bounced back from its big loss in round two to beat Merimbula. Eden's top order of Drew Mudaliar (24), Rahul Mudaliar (45) and Matt Bell (52) did the damage setting Merimbula 151 for victory.
Merimbula couldn't get going and ended its 20 overs 5/122 with Brendan Daley (33) and Beau Bennett (27) the pick of the batters.
Tathra was the only team from the northern pool to get a game in and made short work of Pambula, chasing down the total of 102 inside 15 overs. Adam Blacka with 35 off 26 balls opened the batting and took the game away from Pambula early with Jayden Heyhorn finishing the innings off with 28 off 16 balls.
These results make the southern pool very closely contested with Wolumla on top with 24 points, and Eden and Pambula both on 20 points. Mallacoota hasn't had a game yet but isn't out of contention on 18 points, while Merimbula will need results to go its way in the final two rounds on 10 points.
In the northern pool Tathra is the only side to have played a game in each of the three rounds so far and is on top of the pool ladder with 24 points. Bega/Angledale, Bermagui, Kameruka and Narooma all need to win their remaining two games and hope results work for them to make the finals.
Meanwhile, In B grade results: Bega Angledale George's 3/147 defeated Bega Angledale Liver's 5/104 (Rory Deighton 56 from 61 balls); Tathra (4/64 -15 overs) defeated Pambula (62) (Justin Roscoe 29 from 26 & Jake Russell 3/9 from three overs); Bermagui v Eden was washed out.
Only one junior match was completed on Saturday with Bega Angledale Liver's 7/102 winning the grudge match against the Bega Angledale George's to 67. (Callum McDonald 14* (20); Kade Alcock 13* (35); Ryan Kelly 3/3. Issy Nicholson 6 (28); Flynn Cook 2/1, Ash Gowing 2/3.
A number of double headers will make for a great afternoon of cricket in the senior competitions this weekend.
