It was a jam packed weekend and full of action for both competitors and spectators. There were both local drivers and those from as far as Newcastle, Geelong, Albury-Wodonga, and Sydney.
Club secretary Janifer Hutchinson said it was their third major event in two years and first race meet with people outside of the Bega Valley since Sydney came out of lockdown.

The drivers were all vying for a Black Plate in their individual class, and winning one would mean getting to display their win on the back of their kart in the form of a sticker.
There were a number of classes competing over the weekend, with 4 different age levels and multiple classes within them.
The Cadet 9 competitors are aged between 7-9, the Cadet 12 between 9-12, the Juniors between 12-15, and the Seniors above 15. The youngest driver on the day was 7 and the eldest was 50.
Within their classes there were specific engines, tyres, and fuels used.
Heat one, two, and three were all 14 laps, heat four was 16 laps, and the final race was 18 laps for all classes. The winner of the Black Plate was determined by whoever won their final race within their class.

Club president Joe Papalia said The Sapphire Coast Kart Club provided an incredible opportunity for the participants to get out of the house and off the screens and spend some quality time with their parents.
Often the sport will involved a parent and their child and so it created a better bond and relationship.
He said that the club is very family-orientated and everyone helps one another out and that although they were there to compete, ultimately they were all there to support one another.
Member of the club Aidan Williams, 13, came down from his Moruya home to compete on the day, but is an up and coming racer who often travels interstate to compete. He has been competing since 2015.
He said he loves being able to race with his friends, both those in his club and across the country.
Bega District News spoke to him just after he had competed in a heat where he placed second.
He was already onto analysing the track for how he could improve for his next heat. At the end of the meet, Aiden placed third in the KA4 Jnr Light final.
The next competition will be the Premier State Cup at Newcastle on November 27 and 28.
